The Day I Set Foot in LA [California at Last]
July 24th, 2011 An orange Metro bus caught my first glimpse as it drove by; the cool drift of breeze wasn’t far behind. It was a little after half past 7 in the morning. The backdrop – LAX. The journey had been a day long and certainly tiring. Freshness in the air filled my senses, assuredly enough, it was worthwhile. The blue sky magnifies beyond as the lofty clouds sway, and amidst stands tall the palm trees, lays the hilly streets with those comely one or two-storey joints that greet eyes at every other sight – The view from the taxi window (long awaited and woven in the tapestries of my mind) was one to savor. I was wandering down the serene streets of Wilshire Boulevard on that Sunday afternoon when an exquisite euphony of jazz wafted through the wind and wrapped my ears. Searching the surroundings in wonder my eyes stumbled onto a golden glint, so was a man playing the saxophone at the corner of the opposite street. And while I stood still waiting for the crosswalk sign to turn white, underneath the sweet ambery sunshine – “I am home.” whispered my thoughts and my soul wholeheartedly smiled.
Harry&Hermioneღ ~Drumming Song [AU]
Lets be honest, just the thought of Harry&Hermione being together is EPIC in every possible way! Well, they definitely are “in my books”.
The friendship, the bond, the chemistry that Harry&Hermione shared was exquisite and beautiful which made them perfect for each other in every which way. And if it were upto natural order of things (the way I see it) what they had would have transformed into LOVE…yet and quite sadly (for us HH shippers) their storyline lead to two completely different directions.
‘Drumming Song’ by Florence + The Machine just screamed Harry&Hermione when I first heard it. And with the saga almost coming to end, it seemed like the perfect time to finally vid them like the way I had been wanting to for the longest time as a couple in an AU (Alternate Universe).
{I can feel Ron and Hermione shippers giving me the angry glare}
P.S. There’s more where that came from!
Trip To Langkawi
{Finally had time to write about the trip}
It had been way too long! My baby sister and I were just about dying to go on a holiday and a 4-day family trip to unwind and indulge seemed like the perfect way to end the year 2010.
Destination: Langkawi – a collection of 99 islands situated on the west coast of Malaysia.
After 7 hours and 2 plane trips (having my first taste of red wine on the flight, felt so chic!), we were finally there!

The beach resort we stayed in was so beautifully capacious that they had their own shuttle buses waiting at the lobby, which would traverse us through the midst of fine passageways surrounded by wilderness to what emerged as these lovely little wooden cottages for rooms with ocean views.

Exotic birds glided above and around in the morn while we brunched at the dining hall and on occasion heard the mischievous monkeys making a ruckus on our roof top letting their presence known in the evening. My sister and I sat by the pier and enjoyed the glimmering view on our first night there.

The dinner we were looking forward to at the resort’s chic restaurant by the water-front known as Pahn Thai seemed almost impossible without a reservation much to our dismay. Deciding to check the place out anyhow and suddenly with some stroke of luck we actually ended up getting a table for the family. Thanks to the super nice and welcoming manger. And what can I say about my favorite Thai delicacies except that they were delightfully delicious!

Shopping for souvenirs at the Oriental Village [town market] was so much fun especially with the addition of segway rentals to have an exciting ride through the whole market window shopping around the pretty little stores. Then there were the cable cars which ushered us to a leisurely exhilarating ride up and along the misty mountains of Langkawi. A visit to the Underwater World was glisteningly wonderful.

My most fond memory was waking up just before dawn to a long walk at the beach with a camera around my neck and headphones plugged in for a rendezvous with the majestic Sun rising above the shady valleys spreading its magnificent shimmer across the sky without a soul in sight.

But the true highlight of the whole trip was fulfilling my long awaited wish of jet-skiing for the very first time - adrenaline rushing, wind in my hair, whoosh-wash of the wicked ride whizzing across the waves, with my sis at the back seat (pouting ‘cause 15 year olds weren’t allowed to ride alone). And being the part-responsible/part-cool big sis as I am, I did let her sneak the ride for a little while (sshhh!) and dude (!) the kid actually wanted to take over (from the back!). Plus, we got into a bit of trouble with the jet-ski instructor for riding out too far out from the resort (I do not get sea rules, I tell you!), which I must admit made the experience even more rad! But the best part of all – parents had no idea whatsoever. Ha!

Last but not the least I had my very first Starbucks coffee on our way back at the airport which by the way was undoubtedly the best coffee I’ve ever had. And to make things even sweeter, my baby sister (spending almost half of her own pocket money) bought me a vintage Starbucks mug as a post birthday present pretty much making my whole trip.

“I have this dream of being whole. Of not going to sleep each night, wanting. But still sometimes, when the wind is warm or the crickets sing… I dream of a love that even time will lie down and be still for. I just want someone to love me. I want to be seen…” -Sally Owens (Practical Magic)

Simplicity is the essence of happiness.
Growing up I didn’t have people around me whom I could ever look up to and then there was Holly Marie Combs.
Amazing talent for acting aside, I think Holly is truly the most exquisite being ever to set foot on this planet. Beautiful inside and out. She signifies simplicity, grace, honesty, compassion, wit, realness and not to mention full-on radness (just had to say it).
She is everything I aspire to be.
In plain and simple words - Everyone has a hero, Holly is mine. I’ll save the rest for the song which says it all.
She’s gonna be a star one day. And I will be the first one to get in line for her CDs. Follow her on Twitter > @NinaCremer

Cul-de-sac
The pursuit of answers is omnipresent, the simple are discovered effortlessly while the unrequited or rather concealed ones remain submerged deep down in our minds like long-lost shipwrecks at sea, particularly when sore questions surrounding ‘why’ and ‘I’ come to the fore for they are just cul-de-sacs, nothing more.
